A living example of his own teaching, this saint understood perfectly the art of leading others to love God and to do good. Forced to accept the bishopric of Riez, he overcame his repugnance and proved himself an excellent bishop.

  Ideal: Here is another saint who became such by making the best of things. He did not want to be a bishop, but when he realizes there was nothing to prevent it, he was bishop as well as he could.

  Today: When your teachers assign you some special task, it is because they have faith in your ability. They should know as much about that as you. Attack any task thus assigned as if you had as much faith in yourself as others have in you. Do your best; no one expects more.
