Educated at the University of Perugia, St. James was a private tutor. A visit to the Church of St. Francis at the portinucula decided his vocation. He became a Franciscan.

  Ideal: You will note much about St. James, like St. Matthew. Each heard the call of God to a higher life, left everything and followed the call.

  Today: So often it happens that young people who feel themselves called to a higher life, argue that they could not leave home, etc. What if they should die? Or should they embrace the married state, would they go on living with their parents now?

   Slogan: He that loveth father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me.
