August 8~ SS. Cyriacus, Largus, and Smaragdus, Martyrs

St. Cyriacus was a holy deacon at Rome who, with SS. Largus and Smaragdus and twenty others, suffered martyrdom for their faith.

Fear the Lord, al lye His saints; for there is no want to them that fear Him: the rich have wanted and have suffered hunger, but they that seek the Lord shall not be deprived of any good. ~Introit

They shall gain great freedom of mind, who for Thy name enter upon the narrow way, and relinquish all wordly care. ~Imitation: Book III

Ideal~ Companionship tells on character. These saints mutually encouraged one another to be steadfast in the time of trial and rather to die than to deny Christ.

Today~ Make Jesus your best friend. By frequent Communions and visits to Him in the Blessed Sacrament you will develop a strong personal love for Him that will show in your conduct and tell others of the companionship you are keeping.

Slogan~ Thou, too, wast with Jesus of Nazarteth.
